Spindle Point Studio

Better known as Spindle Point Lighthouse, built in 1892 for the purpose of an artist's studio on Lake Winnipesaukee. What a peaceful commute. I love painting this lighthouse because it is not like any of our typical lighthouses here in New England. This painting is wired for hanging but as you can see, also sits nicely in a display easel. I'm delivering this painting this weekend to Lake Effect 23 Main, Meredith where you can see many more of my paintings on the art wall. It is such a fun store to shop, I always leave with something special.

Update: Well it doesn't usually happen like this but Moon Dance has sold within 10 minutes of my post. Congratulations to my wise collector and I humbly thank you.

Seek and Find

This was my first pick from my new work for posting today. One of my many amazing favorite places to spend time with and let myself be still and become part of the surroundings. It was a grey day which allowed all the colors here to ring saturated and true. I chose a wide 3" mould frame made by Larsen Juehl imported from Italy at Riverside Art in Somerset, MA. This painting was available for sale just until a short time ago so congratulations to the new owner. Enjoy! More small works available in the studio from now until December 24th.

Featured In Providence Journal ~ August 2016

Here is the partial article written by Channing Gray. For the full article visit projo.com and type Sandra DeSano Pezzullo in the search bar.

The paintings are not only big, but in many cases bold and bright.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — For more than a century the Providence Art Club has hosted the popular Little Pictures Show, small paintings that cost no more than $300. Now it has put together its first Big Pictures Show, paintings that are not only big but in many cases bold and bright.
Channing wrote this about my featured painting: Contrast that to Sandra DeSano Pezzullo's evocative "The Great Spirit," with its dark island of scruffy pines and luminous sunset. You don't need sunglasses to take in this magical scene that makes its point with just an accent or two, like the smears of gray-blue and orange on the lake that seem squeezed right from the tube.

Several Articles to Check Out

Reposting this painting which seems to be an all time favorite of many who visit my studio. "Snow Shadows" was mentioned recently in The Providence Journal in an article written by Channing Gray titled "A few gems shine at Gallery Night exhibit in Providence".

Channing wrote  "Speaking of a sense of place, Sandra DeSano Pezzullo really summed up a winter's day with her "Snow Shadows," which shows a black lab sauntering down a snow-covered lane, bare trees arching overhead." To see the full article visit www.projo.com and type in Sandra DeSano Pezzullo in the search bar.

This painting was also the feature article in East Side Monthly titled "In Oil Painting; The art of capturing nature on a canvas"
written by Erin Swanson in 2013. Visit www.eastsidemonthly.com and type Sandra DeSano Pezzullo in the search bar to read the full article.

Looks like my walking buddy Maddie is famous.

The Great Spirit

Medium: Oil on Canvas Panel
Size: 40x40
Status: Available

As you have gathered from my posts on Facebook and Instagram, I have been spending a lot of time this summer in the Lakes Region of NH. It has been such a pleasure to be outdoors and exploring new places and being immersed in natures beauty. I'm overwhelmed by how many lakes are here and how many fantastic little nooks and crannies are hidden around each and every one. It may take a few years to discover them all but I'm up for the task.

I painted this for the "Big Picture Show" at the Providence Art Club and it is hanging in their gallery as we speak through to September 2nd. Presently I am working on several much smaller paintings and also finishing up a pet portrait commission. All is going well as I travel with my paintbox.

Lake Effect Meredith NH

My paintings are now being featured at Lake Effect 23 Main Street in Meredith NH. Such a great store featuring high end home goods jewelry and clothing. Owner Michaela Copland has done a great job displaying my artwork as well as everything else in the store. Come on by, lakeside Winnipesaukee.
