Recently, I have been challenging myself by painting from my imagination. I have spent much of my life engaging with nature and find it cumbersome to fiddle with sketchbooks or a camera when I'm in the woods or on the water. For me, it is a much greater experience to be still, observe and deliberately record in my mind every aspect of my surrounding existence and then later bring it forth in the studio.
