So many people have visited the studio in the past few weeks to attend my "Open Studio Events" and I have thouroughly enjoyed our time together, sharing stories and having a few laughs and just enjoying the creative energy. "Meet me in the Morning Stillness" was inspired by my early morning walks here in New England with my dog Maddie. It's not an actual place, but many places pulled from my experiences and imagination. Such a dreamy piece, no wonder it has found its' home in a bedroom.

"Isle of Springs" is carefully being transported at this very moment to....... Yep you guessed it! Isle of Springs Maine a very picturesque and unique island whose beauty speaks directly to my heart. The residents are equally special.

My painting will be hanging in the Nekrangan House for the summer. The show encompasses artwork by the island artists. It was so kind of those who invited me to be a part of this special show and I can't wait to visit later in the season. A big thank you to Connor, John and Pat.

More Sheep

I need more sheep imagery so I am searching for local sheep farms who will allow me on their property to photograph and sketch their grazing sheep. Any ideas?

Halo of Pale Light

Halo of Pale light is now hanging in the Moose Hill Gallery through the end of March. When you visit the gallery be sure to leave yourself enough time to walk the trails around the Sanctuary. It's a beautiful piece of property where you will see plenty of wildlife, stone walls and a fully operable sugar house. Check out my sidebar "more places to view my work" for gallery info.

A Spring House Evening

Once again a commission. I just love commissions. 

A client came to me with a request. She asked for me to paint the Spring House on Block Island. She was not interested in the usual images of the scene which artists often paint in pastel colors of a summer afternoon setting. Instead she was looking for something more enigmatic and shadowy. If you have ever visited the Spring House you would know that it's the perfect structure and setting for such a mood. It's so great to be a part of such projects, going beyond the ordinary. I really love what I do and my client was very pleased as well. Cheers Hillary!

Only Cool Dogs Wear Oakley

I was commissioned to paint a portrait of my client's pet. The dog was great to work with, he posed perfectly still while I painted him. Strange though, he refused to let me remove his glasses and he kept demanding munchies. Made me kinda nervous and kept me wondering. Any how, my client was quite pleased with the results.
