This painting was a true exploration of the soul. I didn't have a final image in my mind while creating this. Only the raw materials at my fingertips. If you look closely at the background you can see a woman's face. Her presence, watching over the child like a guardian angel.....or Seraph.

This is a photograph that I took during my last visit to San Gimignano Italy. I printed the image on photo canvas and then painted over the image with oil paint leaving some of the photo untouched.
